“The Blend”

Using the best of both Pilates and Yoga – centering, fluidity, control, breathing, intuition and imagination, The Fitness Blend created by Pattie Cinelli helps participants gain a deeper understanding of their own bodies as an integrated whole, rather than connected parts. With a workout that focuses on the mind and body in harmony, The Fitness Blend allows participants to increase joint and muscle strength and mobility and develop more flexible, stronger and leaner bodies.

Imagine your body as an engine of a car, comprised of many pieces. That engine can’t perform unless a driver starts it. It also will not work optimally if it is not regularly maintained. It takes just one part not working well to disable the entire engine. The Fitness Blend is the driver, coordinating all parts to run like a fine tuned engine.

Designed for people of all ages and all fitness levels, The Fitness Blend offers numerous modification possibilities and encourages individual progression in the program. Participants will learn muscle control without tension, stabilization, lengthening while engaging, integrated isolation and moving to their own edge.

Often the body becomes free from the most common aches and pains through body awareness. Physicians often recommend Pilates and Yoga to help relieve minor back pain, making The Blend a perfect choice. Perhaps the most important benefits derived from The Fitness Blend are the techniques students learn to help relieve everyday stress and better function daily.

Pilates

The Pilates exercise system, as developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1940s, is the single, most powerful, effective and safe method for restoring balance, building muscle tone and creating confidence in daily movement that I have found in my more than 30+ years in the fitness industry.

I discovered Pilates 20 years ago purely by accident. Learning the techniques was a challenge – I had to unlearn methods of movement that were no longer serving me. While no exercise will make you grow taller, Pilates has improved my posture which gives people the perception I am taller than my 5ft 3 in frame.

Pilates gives me control over my body and connects it with my thoughts. I love the power it has given me over my health and well-being. Pilates emphasizes balanced development of your body through core strength, flexibility and awareness in order to support efficient, graceful movement. Through centering, flow and efficiency of movement, breath and precision anyone can develop a fit body and strong mind

Fascia Release with Foam Roller Masterclass

Designed by Pattie Cinelli

Explore new foam rolling techniques to help aid in releasing congested tissues-knots and misalignment throughout your body. Learn and sample a variety of equipment such as a tennis ball to learn how to pinpoint and target more difficult-to-reach areas that need more specific pressure.

You will walk away feeling rejuvenated, lengthened, stretched and relaxed. You will learn why myofascial release is an essential part of a pre-or-post workout.

Add a new dimension to your workout. Learn not only techniques for fascia release but also learn how to strengthen your core with foam roller exercises.

Foam rolling benefits include increased flexibility and reduced pain caused by soft tissue. The fascia and underlying muscle can become stuck together (like a fly sticks in a spider’s web). These adhesions result in restricted movement and can cause pain and ultimately, injury.

Gentle sustained pressure on soft tissue allows the stuck tissue to become soft and lengthen. This helps breaks down scar tissue and adhesions. Using a foam roller offers many of the same benefits as a deep tissue massage, Rolfing and Active Release Technique treatment.

This workshop will teach you how to properly use a foam roller to reduce tightness and increase flexibility while giving you a great core strengthening exercises to perform at home.

Yoga

Yoga has been a part of my life for a long time. I began my love affair with yoga in college. When working on Madison Avenue in Manhattan I faithfully practiced with Lilias in the mornings before work and with Richard Hittleman before I slept.

When I was paddling ancient outrigger canoes in Hawaii, doing tough calesthenics and competing for medals, I kept up my yoga practice to keep me flexible and focused.

Yoga is not just about stretching. Yoga is exercise, yet it is so much more. While you gain strength, flexibility and mental clarity, yoga also affects the way you think about the world in which you live. It embodies your whole being and gives you insight in ways you never imagined. Yoga is fun, challenging and the best part is, anyone can do it. Yoga meets you where you are and takes you on a journey wherever you need to go.
